LaClare began as a farmstead cheese operation in 1978, created by Larry and Clara Hedrich. Larry later started the Quality Dairy Goat Producers Coop to provide a continuous supply of high-quality goat milk for their business. Their daughter, Katie Fuhrmann, is head cheesemaker for LaClare Family Creamery. She helped create and establish their “flagship” cheeses, Evalon and Chandoka. Both cheeses have won local and national awards.
