Hook’s Original Blue is a Danish-style blue cheese, aged more than a year, and possessing a strong, tangy blue flavor and a somewhat sweet finish.

It has been produced by Hook’s Cheese for more than a decade.


Hook’s Original Blue cheese

Tony and Julie Hook have been making cheese in Wisconsin for more than 30 years.  Starting out as a fairly small operation, the Hooks made primarily Cheddar and Swiss cheeses.  Some years later they expanded to Colby, Monterey Jack, and flavored Jacks and eventually they grew to such an extent that they needed to find a larger working space.  Many more artisan cheeses and awards later, the Hooks now make cheese from their Mineral Point location in southwestern Wisconsin. Hook’s Original Blue cheese is a real crowd-pleaser!

Pairing suggestions: Dried figs, Wisconsin Natural Acres Honey, New Glarus Two Women Lager, Pinot Noir wine.
