This is the delicious smoked version of Marieke’s Goudas, and its special flavor goes well with plain crackers or a fresh loaf of bread.  It is gently smoked over natural hickory wood.

Smoked Gouda cheese

Marieke Gouda is a signature cheese for Holland’s Family Cheese, headed by Marieke and Rolf Peterman.  It’s made with an authentic Old World Gouda recipe.  The equipment, cultures, herbs and spices are all imported from the Netherlands.  Presently, the rBGH free cows milk from the Penterman Farm cows is piped directly from the first milking of the day directly into the processing vat – fresh ingredients!

Marieke Penterman is the cheesemaker who has created an excellent line of authentic Dutch Gouda cheeses. She immigrated from the Netherlands with her husband, Rolf, who manages the Holland’s Family Cheese dairy operation.

Pairing suggestions: Pilsner beer or a Riesling wine, and Winter Wheat crackers.
