The term “Grana” at first referred to a class of hard, mature cheeses that were from Italy. Grana cheese typically has a granular texture and is often used for grating.
In fact, in 2013, Big Sky Grana cheese was awarded 1st place in its category and 3rd place “Best in Show” by the American Cheese Society.
