Made from pasteurized cow’s milk.

Canela (cinnamon in Spanish) is an original creation inspired by classic Spanish-style cheeses. It is aged for 15 months or more in a cellar, resulting in a dense texture with crystallization and a concentration of exquisite flavors in each bite.  Rubbed with cinnamon and paprika, imparting a nutty flavor. Featured on Top Chef.

Canela is featured in our Porto Duet cake of cheese.

This special cheese won 1st place at the American Cheese Society in 2012; it was originally called GranQueso Reserve.

Description

Roth’s Canela cheese

Canela cheese is one of many Roth cheeses featured in Fromagination.

Roth Cheese: A family of cheesemakers has been crafting award-winning specialty cheese for more than 150 years in the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin. They began in 1863, when Oswald Roth began making and aging cheese in Uster, Switzerland. Today, Roth Cheese is part of the Emmi Group and continues to focus on specialty and artisan cheeses rooted in European traditions, as well as American Originals. With aging cellars and authentic copper vats, Emmi Roth cheeses are a testament to the cheesemaker’s craft.
