Description
The Wild Boar cheese
Earthy black truffle ambles between creamy Monterey Jack curds to craft the rich yet approachable sensory experience of The Wild Boar. Each bite transports your palate to the Wisconsin North with the savory truffles’ warm, woodsy notes and mild, buttery cheese. This charming and aromatic Jack quickly finds its home on a board or melted into dishes for a delightfully mushroomy finish.
Ingredients: Pasteurized milk, truffles (black summer truffles brisure [black truffle, truffle juice] carob powder, salt, natural flavoring), salt, cultures and enzymes.
The Artisan Cheese Exchange, located in northeast Wisconsin, makes a great variety of wonderful cheeses. Fromagination carries several of the Deer Creek brand varieties, including The Wild Boar. Also carried by Fromagination are Imperial Buck, Blue Jay, Robin, Rattle Snake, The Doe, Vat 17 Cheddar and Proprietor’s Grand Reserve cheeses. Founder Chris Gentine chose the names and labeling for these artisan cheeses based her affinity for a children’s storybook, The Golden Story Book of River Bend, which was written by Richard Scarry’s wife Patricia Scarry.
Pairing suggestions: Dried figs, dried dates, sweet Soprasetta, Genoa Salame, Mortadella, Prosciutto, a baguette, arugula, pasta, pistachios, walnuts. Beverages: sparkling grape juice, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Moscato, Italian red wines, brut Champagne, Grappa, vodka.
