Thorp Red Wine Gouda cheese

This interesting offering is a red wine-infused Gouda cheese from one of the masters of Gouda, Marieke Penterman of Marieke Gouda (Holland’s Family Cheese).  Thorp cheese is an offering named, in the European tradition, for the town where it originated.  It has a distinct grey coloring near the rind, and a clear whiff of wine when freshly cut.

Thorp further distinguishes Marieke, a Netherlands-born, now Wisconsin, Master Cheesemaker.
