After Glow cheese, Blakesville Creamery, Port Washington, Wisconsin

This is a picture of the Fromagination goat

Made from pasteurized goat milk.

After Glow is a brine-washed cheese, and part of that brine is New Glarus Belgian Red Ale, which includes Door County cherries. This process gives the cheese a subtle, fruity flavor and triples the Badgerland terroir. Wisconsin goats, beer and cherries!

It weighs approximately 1/3 pound (each), and is aged 4-6 weeks.

Description

After Glow cheese

This beer-washed, pasturized goat milk cheese is soft ripened.

Afterglow cuts neatly into elegant portions for clean presentation on cheese boards or picnic platters. The burnished rind and dense, rich paste can stand up to assertive flavors without overpowering more delicate ones. For best flavor and texture, allow to come to room temperature before serving.

Blakesville Creamery is part of Blakesville Dairy Farm in Port Washington, Wisconsin.  They have 900 goats!

Pairing suggestions: Afterglow pairs well with Wisconsin’s fruity beers and ciders, brandy old-fashioneds, and medium bodied wines
