Blakesville Creamery Holiday Cheer cheese

$25.00

Holiday Cheer cheese, Blakesville Creamery, Port Washington, Wisconsin

This is a picture of the Fromagination goat

Made from pasteurized goat milk.

Wrapped like a pretty package, Holiday Cheer is a nod to our love of the Wisconsin Brandy Old Fashioned (cocktail) and leaf-wrapped cheeses. Cheesemaker Veronica Pedraza takes fragrant Japanese Sakura leaves soaked in Korbel Brandy and carefully wraps each citrus-flecked puck of chèvre by hand.

Holiday Cheer is a showstopper on a board!

Happy Holidays from the shores of Lake Michigan.

Pairing suggestions: Amarena cherries, candied walnuts, Turron, Gluhwein, and Brandy Old Fashioneds (of course)

It weighs approximately 1/3 pound (each), and is aged 4-6 weeks.

Description

Holiday Cheer cheese

This pasturized goat milk cheese is soft ripened.

These diminutive drums are dense and clay-like in texture – they melt in your mouth the way peanut butter does. The aroma is mushroomy but not heavy, and the flavor is bright, lactic, nutty.

Blakesville Creamery is part of Blakesville Dairy Farm in Port Washington, Wisconsin.  They have 900 goats!
