Made from pasteurized cow milk, featuring vegetarian rennet.

Hook’s Five-Year Aged Cheddar is made in five-pound blocks, develops rich, complex flavors over time.  In some years, delicate proteins form crunchy pockets of caramelized intensity.

(Hook’s also produces a five year, 10 year, 12 year, and 15 year).

Hook’s Five-Year Aged Cheddar cheese is a very popular item in our shop!

Tony and Julie Hook have been making cheese in Wisconsin for more than 30 years. Starting out as a fairly small operation, the Hooks made primarily Cheddar and Swiss cheeses. Some years later they expanded to Colby, Monterey Jack, and flavored Jacks and eventually they grew to such an extent that they needed to find a larger working space. Many more artisan cheeses and awards later, the Hooks now make cheese from their Mineral Point location in southwestern Wisconsin.
