Description
Barneveld Blue cheese
Barneveld Blue cheese is named for the plant at which Tony Hook apprenticed at more than 40 years ago. Tony and Julie Hook have been making cheese in Wisconsin for more than 40 years. Starting out as a fairly small operation, the Hooks made primarily Cheddar and Swiss cheeses. Some years later they expanded to Colby, Monterey Jack, and flavored Jacks and eventually they grew to such an extent that they needed to find a larger working space. Many more artisan cheeses and awards later, the Hooks now make cheese from their Mineral Point location in southwestern Wisconsin.
